     This will be ma next action to get something done about the wall in Baren St I had a look yesterday and bricks seem to be getting looser than the last time I had a close look

I know I am going on about it but years ago I saw a small land slide and if was a frightening site just to see a the earth move . There has been some effort to fix the potholes at least.





 

This is how I felt about this new laptop made a right mess last night when moving E mail & attachments to my calender.

                                         Looking out I see a nice day ahead I hope it lasts.  

Some of the people in our area will have received letters from East Renfrewshire Council ( E R )about the delay in repairs to local housing. We live in hope that the work will go a head next fiscal year.

I will try to get a better explanation and report back.

Hi All

Just reading more briefing papers.I wish I was paid by the page ( not that I am paid in the first place )

I was just down at supermarket it is sad to see people having to give food back dew to lack of funds.I trust that no one has to go hungry.

We will soon be entering the annual rent setting round of meetings with East Renfrewshire council.( E R ). Please be assured during our meetings with E R we will do our best to keep any increase as low as possible.

                      Just received e mail about federation meeting  next week. Should be fun

 

Hi All

Yesterday at the meeting in Paisley yesterday we were given a presentation on the future of help and care for the elderly. The presentation was marred by the lack of heating & poor acoustics. However the event went well enough all the proposals sound good however if there is no cohesion in joining everything up I fear that more vulnerable people will fall through the safety net .Part of the idea is to insure that people have more care at home & not put in some form of care. We also revived information on the new welfare package where people receive funds to buy & manage there one care.This optional method will be good for some people however it would have to be supervised to insure the person dew the package revives it & the care dew also insuring that  the funds are not diverted,

Please remember to look after anyone that may be vulnerable and if you believe help is required pleas inform social services.

             Hi gang I have still had no word on the state of the retaining wall in Baren St .

Got new lap top at last also got a few quid of the sale price and a fist full of vouchers. All I did was ask if there was something else off for a  old twit like me. Pays to ask the only thing is the new one has various no qwerty keys in different places the main one being the del key .

I see that it is a great day for East Renfrewshire we see a  food bank opening in Barrhead I have mixed feelings about this I am happy that people in need will be getting something to eat. But I am.

 

     At to why there is a requirement for a food bank today in what is still one of the richest countries in the world.

           Well it is the week end again and I will spend some time going over the draft papers I have.

A wet morning

Hi all I was just the morning on line news papers & wonder if I an on an other planet.The spin is at times unbelievable

Over the last few days I have revived various draft questioners in regard to social housing some will take some time to complete. I am unsure if all the consultative questionnaires have any value.

I see from bloger towers the various types of bins are being met with mixed reception.I support recycling and would ask others to comply with the process that is being put in place.I understand that fly tipping is still increasing ..

  
This is what you have to pay toward to clean up it costs time which has to be paid for if you want your council tax to go up carry on with this behaviour.This behaviour not only leaves the country side in a mess but it affect the wild life which we share our planet.

      
                Yes it is a wonderful blue green place.such a pity we are bent on its destruction..  

                    Do you have any ides to bring to our we bit of the planet & our wee hall.

                        Remember the long cold winter nights will soon be with us and far to many people will be lonely & unhappy. Please remember all the vulnerable people out there.

A bit later than normal

                                                             Hi all a late to day

                                I was a bit under the weather this morning so had a lie in.

Tomorrow I well be off to Voluntary Action for the Reminiscence Group memory lane event. The key note this time will be Medicine Chest will this recall some of grannies old  cures come along ans find out.

Last night I was at a meeting with Barrhead Housing. This was as usual a good evening we covered a range of matters. We were introduced to the method of dealing with antisocial behaviour. In my view this is over dew & I hope that East Renfrewshire's approach will continue along similar lines.

      I still cant make my mind up on replacement laptop. I think I will just wait for the sales..

Morning All

This week will see the official opening of East Renfrewshire's food bank I understand that our M P will be in attendance. I hope the honorable gentleman will bring some much needed media attention to this alarming situation of people requiring to turn to a food bank for help. To get help from a food bank you have to be refereed to them by several agencies like a doctor or the citizens advise I will try to get a comprehensive list and post on your fast moving blog.

                               At present you can donate food stuff's and personal items.

At this time you can donate items to there collection point at Voluntary Action in Kelburn  St Barrhead & The Royal Bank of Scotland in  Crossarthurlie St Barrhead More soon.

The need for food bank's is alarming & I hope all our local readers can help.Please do not forget there has been several reports about how vast groups of people are just two short weeks from finical breakdown. We all know how much the cost of living is. We all see food costs on the up almost bye the hour.If you can help pleas do so.

     This week also marks the third year of operation of the Reuse-it project in East Renfrewshire.

It's changing

      Yes its getting cooler and all too soon it will be winter time again time seems to pass all to fast.

      I see the temperature dropping it reminds me of all the vulnerable people out there. It saddens me that there are people who will not claim what they are dew out of fear of being called a scrounger. They will just sit at home with the heating turned off and suffer ill health as a result.

So like last year we ask you to remember all the vulnerable people out there if you know any one please contact any of the agencies that can help.

Reading briefing papers about rent increases this is in preparation for various consultations some of which 

 tenants will be asked for input.As papers are in draft it is not appropriate to publish at this time.

Be assured we fill do all that we can to keep any rises as low as possible.

  

 As more and more people struggle to survive  I would like to see a reduction in rent & C tax. 

Perhaps more alarming I see Christmas stuff out in a store near us. Yesterday I was passing the display a young mother & children were also passing the youngest jumping up & down with glee.All of this when it is tot even the September week end.

Yesterday I was in city (Glasgow) visiting friend who lives in the merchant city after visit I dropped in to the office of Age U K . I had received a e mail from them about a drop in week I was made most welcome and was greeted bye one of the main funders a David Urquhart .

This Thursday

              There is an open day in Clarkson hall about welfare ect  it is open all day & is a drop in.

   I am off down to Kilmarnock to get info on changes to bin uplifts I have been informed that they are changing to uplifts every 4 weeks I have arranged to contact a member of one of the tenants groups down there.

Just received E mail about event next mouth on the 1st October 2013 it is older person's day. and Voluntary Action will be arranging something.

Monday moan

Just a few snaps taken on a Sunday morning  

The pictures show part of Barn St Barrhead. We have raised concern about the state of the retaining wall for our wee park. Will this wall fall?. Will someone be hurt?.        

 
         The lower pictures show the state of Barn St we think it should be renamed  Patchwork St .
Well that is the Monday moan now for the good news. Is there any?. Yes there is I have another day to enjoy.

  
This Wednesday will see the usual over 50s walking group which leaves Voluntary Action at 11am come along for a short local walk & a cup of tea or coffee & a wee chat.

On Friday there is the over 50s Computer club you can come along and get help and advise with anything to do with enjoying your computer and all the benefits that brings.

   Hi all time seems to fly in all to soon it will be Baa Humbug time again ( did not wish to use the  C word )

Just thinking of what to have for breakfast before I go out for my usual Sunday thing.I see so much sadness out there I wish we all could pull to together an insure that the real vulnerable's get help and support where the need it. also receive any assistance they wish.
 

  Sometimes there is nothing wrong with being oddball. If you do not like the individual then how sad to bad.
