From bloger towers

I was looking out from bloger towers this morning only to see elderly lady almost being blown down. I had just got in from delivering a few flyers for the meeting arranged next mouth to discus the rent rise for 2014/15. I was almost blown away so the venerable must be felling it hard please help if you can.

Well this is the end Just travailing back from Edinburgh went in to shop to get something for train back to the dear green place. ( Glasgow ). Was stooped and asked to leave Edinburgh as he did not like my reusable carrier bag (East Renfrewshire one). It turned out shop was managed by a tenants rep from the Capital & was a bit of a wag. Nice guy gave me a discount. Nice to find out their issues mirror ours.

Rememberer the meeting down in the Dunterlie hall Stewart St on the 8th January 2014 @ 7pm to discuss the rent increases please attend if you can. I will post a temporary phone no  latter.

Out braving the storm down at East Renfrewshire Council ( E R ) offices with a list of complaints from residents & tenants. Most about storm damage & the ongoing impact.

                              One other major complaint is fly tipping a scourge in all of E R.

   
  Some of this is commercial waste if you know who is responsible do the right thing it cost a four figure sum to clean this up and it is your council tax that pays for the clean up. E R could use the funds to better projects.

Almost Christmas Day have a thought for some of the people who may not have such a good time . Yesterday it came to my attention that there are the carers out in our community looking after very vulnerable people who will be working on Christmas Day Some will be leaving their families to attend to others.

There is a forgotten group in our community that is the young carers some very young indeed. I have been informed that there are some as young as 10 going home at lunch time from school to insure that a parent is fed and has their proper medicine. If you know a child in this situation over the holiday please try and help. A young child should be just that.

As I sit and type this little posting I am watching the usual Sunday morning comment program I wonder what world some of the commentator's live in.

At the 8th Jan 2014 there will be a public meeting at 7pm in the Dunterlie centre there will be speakers on the subject of the rent increase for 2014. Come along and hear the views and perhaps have your say.Rent increases area sore point with all tenants.

It may be of interest that there was an interesting articular on this issue in The Telegraph (on Line) stating that rents were going up 1.8 time more than income. The point being income & not pay.

Once again look after yourself rememberer if you do not you will not be able to help a loved one.

This time of year is meant to be a time of peace let it be so.

                                    There is only a few days to go make sure you have all the medication you require as doctors surgeries will be on restricted hours. Also if you have a card meeter for power remember to top up.

Yesterday I was at the catchup meeting of the still game event I attended at the start of the year.A very nice afternoon. We had a few scones & mince pies prepared  by East Renfrewshire Council ( E R ) .

Although I have posted some negative remarks about E R I can not fault the catering  mince pies one of the best this year.

On a baa humbug note if  you have overstretched you finesses please seek advice  E R have a exultant money advice service & it is offered free to all in ER phone 0141 577 3001 & ask for money first.

This is the Barrhead office of East Renfrewshire Council ( E R ). In this office you can get advice and help with your rent & council tax. You can also seek advice on a range of council services including money first.
The money first team can assist you if you have any money worries they can contact your creditors and try to mediate with them this service is free. why pay some other organisation . 

                    Money first will arrange an agreement if you are in arrears with rent or council tax.  

E R's customer first team should be your first point of contact. Please treat the staff with the way they treat you. 

          Call me cynical if you wish but I have just had a good look at Dundee University weather satellite repaving station web page. Now I am no meteorologist but I have looked at this site for some timer now & I get some idea of what is coming. Most of the current weather is coming from the west. There is a lot of bad stuff hovering around the north east.

So rap up warm and take care of your self and all vulnerable people out there. Look in on anyone you may have not seen for a few days.

Morning Rant

Was passing the retaining wall at the park in Barns St Barrhead this wall is getting worse by the day. How ever the condition of wall is dew to be repaired. The condition was highlighted at the last meeting I attended in the council offices.

The East Renfrewshire ( E R )  council management highlighted this along with other matters during rent review discussions. We will not be holding our breath's waiting.

Some people will be reviving letter to remind them to make an effort to clean up conman areas I will urge all to make an effort.

Also please stop dumping rubbish .

This was not staged this was fly tipped at the top of Chapel St Barrhead. To get this point the person would have had to turn off Crossarthurlie St Barrhead. when an equal distance is the E R council refuge recycling unit .

  
                           Also remember you can call Re Use it if you have anything.

Re useit have a  Mulberry hand bag on e bay this bag is very nice.This bag would make a very nice present for some lady. Have a look .

At today's federation meeting  it was decided to hold a public meeting to put to all tenants of East Renfrewshire Council ( E R ) the question of the rent rise for 2014/15. This is in light of the ever increasing cost of living. We will post full information of venue date and times when confirmed. There will be meetings held in both parts of E R.

Last night I was at a meting with Barrhead Housing a good and constructive meeting . I only wish others were as good.

Last nights meeting was a bit loud some people a bit naffed about what is happening about the potential rent rise. The issue will be discussed on Wednesday at a special federation meeting so I will post back on the issue.

I will be attending the Housing liaison meeting to night with East Renfrewshire Council ( E R ).

This is to disuse the rent rise for next year or should I say living standards reduction. Then tomorrow evening we will be at a meting with Barrhead Housing Association ( B H A ) .Then on during the week  we have a tenants & residents federation meeting .

All of this in more than enough to put me back in a real bah humbug mood but it wont .

A shot of the close at the long time void at 10 Kerr St Barrhead.The door to the close fell in during the storm this week your bloger did not  wish to venture in any further as I was a  bit wet had damaged jeans when coming up Barn St I tripe on a pothole when taking this I reported door being of to East Renfrewshire Council (E R).The door was relapsed  in about 3 hrs fastest repair I have seen.

       

Yes the wall's condition is deteriorating. This has been reported to E R so we shall see.

We again campaign on fly tipping please stop.

Sad news from South Africa. The world will miss this gentleman.

Next week we will be attending a meeting with East Renfrewshire Council ( E R ) this is the annual  banter about the coming rent rise can our tenants afford to pay much more. Most people have not had a pay rise in years and with the cost of food going up all the time there will be a grater demand on the food banks.
