Sunday news

Just a quick follow up from the estate walk around. There is a  new contractor fort the mixed tenure grass & hedge work The new contractor should be on site soon. Also work is dew to start in long term void in Kerr St Barrhead . This will open up much needed housing.

As it is a nice Sunday I am off out I wish all a good day back tomorrow.

Good morning

After yesterdays estate walk about I was informed that work should start soon with repair to steps.
Rememberer that East Renfrewshire Council ( E R ).have put the barriers up and put a temporary closure on the steps. This is a safety measure so do not remove the barriers.

I have asked when the roof & rendering will start and I wait information.Some of the roofing is in a bad way and should be repaired soon.

Several tenants & residents came out and spoke to council staff & local councillor I trust their issues will be resolved.
 
This coming week will see the start of the men's shed information can be obtained from E R's customer advice on 0141 5770 3001

When you have read your copy of E R's housing news please pay attention to pages 8 & 9. The main part is keeping your rent payment's up to date. If you are having payment difficulties you can contact the money advice team on 0141 577 8420.

You can contact E R's arrears officer on 0141 577 8406 to arrange an appointment.

E R council have a drop in advice service at both offices contact  0141 577 3001 for appointment or more information.

East Renfrewshire citizens advice ( C A B )  office is situated on Main St Barrhead just across the road from E R council office. The C A B can help with a range of issues. You can phone on 0141 881 2032 to arrange an appointment.

Pleas ask for help do not suffer on your by yourself. There is a wide range of assistance use it.

There is also advice for people having issues paying when buying their homes.

To all residents tenants & residents do not forget that you must keep up paying your council tax E R will chase up payment.

We all hate paying council tax but this pays for services we all use. The council has to pay out large sums of money for cleaning up after  fly tipping.

Important news

HAVE HERD ABOUT THE HOUSEBREAKING IN BARRHEAD

It has been reported in the Barrhead News that there has been a increase in housebreaking in Barrhead. Please insure that you lock all door's & window's are locked also if you are going away let someone know.

 Also please keep an eye open for any vulnerable person you may know of. The people committing crimes like this may just brake in may do so even if there are people in the house. There is a possibility that violence may be used. 

To morrow Friday we will be having our estate walkabout leaving from our wee hall at 12 noon. You are most welcome to attend at any point of the walkabout or just pop out and highlight any issue you may have.

Good day all

Not long now till our walk about I extend an invitation for anyone to attend . We meet at 10 noon this Friday. All East Renfrewshire departments are aware of this together with all local councillors. We hope for a good turn out.

The other day I was passing through our park hoping to get a few shots in summer.I could not as battery went flat.

It's raining

I can remember seeing this wall on my first day at school.

Out & about

Where are we? road in a state.

Gertrude Pl

Railway wall Kelburn St this is where the old railway crossed over Kelburn St there was a station a few yards up the road which never opened. It was to be called Barrhead South. Before the Volvo had a unit there was a rail head for a coal depo.There was a delivery by rail once a week. It is perhaps a good thing to see a brown field site being used for housing.

Monday morning

Well it's Monday again and lots to do. The worst thing is having to pay my C tax. I do not think we are getting best value for our tax pound. The sate of some of our pavements are a disgrace I understand the views of the motorist in our midst but I fear for vulnerable people. Some of our vulnerable's are very unsure on their feet when walking. A lot of vulnerable people do not have access to a car & have to rely on public transport.

On Friday we will be having our estate walkabout more on this soon. You will be most welcome to join us.

It's back in place

East Renfrewshire Council ( E R ) staff have put the barriers back.I hope that they will be left in place this time. The steps are waiting to be repaired and E R have closed the steps to prevent any mishaps.
 The ramp is still there and is still in use it's only a few extra yards to walk.

It is a nice day and have been out just discovered the battery in my camera is flat. Silly me I recharged others  last night.

I have just sent in e mail to roads to ask for update on the state of pavements in our wee bit of East Renfrewshire ( E R ). I will not hold my breath waiting .I also have been informed about anti social actions in our area. Lots can be done the wardens service can & will assemble evidence they can also appear in court if required, this will insure that your one identity is not reviled & you will not have to go to any hearings.

It's Monday
