More people are slipping in to finical hard ship. The other night in a supermarket I had the unfortunate occasion to see the people in front of me have three credit cards turned down before having a forth a accepted. I have no way of knowing their financial situation but it mad me wonder. If anyone out there is in financial bother please seek advice. East Renfrewshire Council (E R ) have a drop in money advice centre at their office in Barrhead  or call 0141 577 3001

Alarm

      It has come to our attention via  Facebook that thee is a scam going on in Neilston. Which is only a few short mile's away from Gateside/Dalmeny Please be on the outlook for any bogus callers and do not allow them entry to your home.It appears that there has been two incidents of theft from vulnerable people. Please look and insure that you check the id of any caller in. If you are unsure call the police or East Renfrewshire  warden service .

Also we repeat our call to look after any vulnerable person you know of, some day it my be you that requires help.

It's the rainy season

Do you have a issue with anti social behaviour East Renfrewshire Council ( E R )  have a robust program for dealing with a wide range of issues. If you have any issues contact  E R on 0141 577 3001 they will respond within three days and arrange an interviewer with in five days.

                    Any crime should be refereed to the police in the normal manner.

                          The year is moving on and it will all to soon be the festive season.

I was at the successfully tenants conference in Barrhead East Renfrewshire ( E R ) it was good day
 As regular readers may recall I have attended several other conferences ran by other horsing bodies ( mostly housing associations) I was pleased to see just how well our conference was run. Also most welcome was the light lunch provided which included the world famous lentil soup.

                   This is the day of our tenant conference I will post a summery of the outcome.

In the next few weeks we hope to have some information from Barrhead Housing ( B H ) .

I have been in contact with B H as a result of comments from residents.

Yes winter is coming

It is getting colder however there is good news this weekend  we get an extra hour in bed that is here in the  U K The clocks go back one hour

To day down in the community centre in Aurs Dr there will be welfare reform advice drop in. Should you require assistance look in there are two bus service's stop near the centre the no 3 & no 10 both from            Mc Gills.

There will also be lots of information at the tenants event to morrow Saturday 26th October 2013 in East Renfrewshire Council offices.

The venue for last nights Housing Lesion Meeting. To say it was at times a lively meeting would be the understatement of the week. How ever progress was made was made. It is worth noting that progress has been made in the mixed tenure project.

                   
                             ONLY  A FEW DAYS TO THE TENANTS CONFERENCE  

                         The building at the bottom of Barn St shows the Conner Rd  project which assists young  vulnerable people to move in to housing and enable them to live a full productive life. As a group we will be inviting them along to our meeting soon.

  Entrance in to units at foot of Cogan St  Barrhead years ago I recall seeing the Co- oP  milk bottling plant just to the right off picture was the Co laundry.

Large retaining wall at Barrhead Station this is the present entrance to the council recycling unit. This was the Good mineral depot for the railway.

You can take all rubbish to the unit. Considering where this unit is located makes no seance of why people have been fly tipping less than a mile away..

We have commented on care for each other with the resent news about
fuel costs we ask again look after all vulnerable people.It is not only the old who suffer at this time. Your bloger has been criticised of this small campaign but do I care ?.





   Next Friday there will be an event down at the Ark in Aurs rd Barrhead.

           Also advice on heating will be available at the tenants conference on Saturday 26 October 2013 .

Had a phone call last night I understand that a new session of the Still Game is dew to start if your are interested call Bellinda on 0141 577 8480 . This is a program for us oldies to help get us out and about.

This picture shows the fate of a lamp post that had not been repainted for years. The locals are waiting a new one This all came to light during an estate walk around in Gateside / lochliebo Cr  area.

    At 1pm to day 17th October a new session of memory lane down in Voluntary Action come along and enjoy your self .
