Hi all I was at the first meeting to revive the East Renfrewshire Federation. All wet well and after the new consternation is cleared by all groups & interested parties things will move on.

It looks like there will be better consultation all round.

                  Hi all no this is not the weather to-day in Dalmeny Barrhead more lie this.

I was reading comments in one of the on line news papers. All about people on benefits the sad part is that the vile comments are now referring to us oldies as pension scroungers & coffin dodgers. So I have just added up the time I spend ( un paid ) in the third sector & involvement in the tenants & residents movement. More than when in paid employment.

           This week I will be a meeting about the reformation of the federation. More soon.

                            This Saturday is looking fine and dry.

I am having a look around to see what can be done to improve our home area.

This is our wee park much better use of this asset could happen.

Last year I made enquirers about the mobile sports unit. This can be brought  to our park but at a cost . I had the chance of part funding  however when I tried to see if any parents would assist I was ignored also on one instance I was told I should pay for it out of my one pocket.

This will not deter me from trying to bring anything to our wee area but we need help.

We  require families to come on board as I am only prepared to attempt to arrange things from the background & try to insure that anyone in contact with vulnerable people or any children have the proper checks.

    

Over the cumming mouths various works will start to improve our we bit of Scotland.

Everyone can help by just taking a bit of care.

No dog fouling 

No doping litter

No fly tipping

And just taking care of our place.

Last week during the reminiscing event down in 

we had a good time. some care homes are now bringing residents along. One thing came to light was that it was the first time one of the wonderful residents had been out this year.

Friday is a new day and I hope for a nice one I have just ran off a few letters to people who have expressed an interest in joining us in our wee group . You can join us if you wish.

A short time ago I was making my juice & looking out from blogger towers. Much can be done to improve our area.

Watching  B B C news I note that there are sever issues dew to the benefit cuts. Do you need help?. Do not struggle alone. I see that shoplifting is increasing people stealing food just to eat  we now have a food bank please contact the Citizens advice for any help.

                                                 Hi I hope to see some sun to day.

 What sad times we live in with the sad news fro London it highlights what hate can do.

I hope to collect flyers for our next meeting. Once again I could use some help with distribution.

If you can think of anything that could help improve our we area please get in touch together we can make this one of the best parts of East Renfrewshire.

  

   Not the best picture this was last year when Scottish Water had the supply off. A few days latter there was    a similar situation in Glasgow where Scottish Water has put out emergence supply's Some tourist ( from London) asked a city warden what it was all about the reply was ( joking )  bottled water was put on the streets in summer.

On a sad note over the last few days I have been informed about two of my peer grouping who have bee found dead alone in their homes. This is a sad  disturbing situation. I will be off to one of the funerals shortly.

The other was not in this area. This is one of the reasons I hope to get things moving to insure that people are not left on their one. I have posted about several things that are run but more are needed can you help.

  

The Tuesday rant

                                                                Good morning all

             It is refuge collection day I wish they would come at a set time but that is a pipe dream .

I was approached  again about the cost of special collections. This time a local has been caught fly tipping. It appears they would not pay for the special up lift and just dumped the stuff. They have taken the hump about being caught and are now having to pa a penalty. The people asked if we could get the charge canceled I said no they then said our association should pay the charge.

                                             I wonder which planet they come from.

                          I will have to check up to see if the flyers are ready for our next meeting.

What a nice day I hope that anyone that can get out is out there and enjoying the good weather.It has been a long cold damp few months.

As some of you may know there is a food bank being set up in our nationhood please give if you can. You can drop stuff of at Voluntary Action Kelburn St Barrhead.
                                           
                                                                         

                 So much for our wonderful M P's  saying poverty will be thing of the past.

Monday morning is with us again. I will be out seeing a few people who may have an interest in joining us in our wee group.

Just getting breakfast this view of block from blogger towers is depressing. This block has been like this far to log. I have  requested update & information at every Housing Lesion Meeting ( H S L G ) for some time now. We have been assured that we will receive an update at the next H S L G meeting.

 I hope it lasts this morning I was reading my mail I almost dumped it as it had been mixed up with all the junk that our poor post person has to lug around . The letter was about a meeting to attempt the establishment of activities for the over 50s .

We will be calling a public meeting soon to put to all our residents what the want and the way forward for our group.I hope more people will join us perhaps some of the younger people with families I would like to things you the young to help keeping them from just hanging around, most are good kids.On a personal level I believe it is important that only parents take the lead in the running of anything .We may be able to assist in obtaining the proper protection of venerable groups ( P V G ) check for anything that may be organised.

A P V G is a requirement when running anything that involves contact with vulnerable people or children. A P V G is the replacement to the enhanced disclosure Scotland. What this entails will be explained if anyone can assist in anything.

At Monday nights housing lesion meeting the issue of fuel poverty was raised in relation to dampness.The housing management are monitoring this and will report back. How ever poverty affects more than you would think. It is sad to think that our forefathers campaigned to stop all poverty . A read at
Joseph Roundtree foundation is worth  a look.

Also we were informed that things are moving on with regard to the issue of the long void flats in Kerr St Barrhead

    

Just about to go down to tonight's housing services lesion group meeting  should be a good one.

This morning I was  meeting a friend for coffee I arrived early and was reading bumf from the Scottish Gov on the Housing Revenue Account. They relay should have look at what they are sending out. This is more so when they are trying to involve new people. It is one the thing trying to understand the paper when you are used to it. It is another if you are new to that sort of thing.

This is what everyone should have. I have been reading the draft consultative paper on guidance on the operation of local authority's housing revenue account.

You would think that I would have better things to do with my Sunday. Well I do and will be off soon to my usual thing for a Sunday.

On Saturday evening  I will be sitting down to complete a   form from the Scottish Government about the housing revenue account. This will take some time and is an effort to consult a range of people / bodies involved in the social housing market.

          I await information about what is happening about the fly-tipping issue I raised last week.

 The cost of clean up has to be paid & unless the person responsible is brought to book the people bearing he cost will be us.. This will be a charge agents our council tax.I for one would prefer see my tax pound spent elsewhere.
  

How many of you recall above. I sometimes wonder if all the changes we have had over the years was for the better. Most people knew just who was your councilor and what he/she stood for and it was local issues that weer put to the voters at election time.

On Monday I will be at the housing lesion group meeting there is a full agenda and I will report back on the out come. I will again press for an up date on the isue of the empty block in Kerr St Barrhead . I is a bit of an issue I see the block when I look out from blogger towers or walk out of my block This block has a much needed four apartment which could be easily rented. Your blogger understands there is interest in this block.

                   For a bit of fun this happened to me again yesterday on train back from Kilmarnock.

                                                  

Some time ago I posted about the condition of the pavement in Blackwood St Barrhead I have revived communication from East Renfrewshire Council (E R C ) on this issue. I am pleased to note that the pavement's condition has moved up from 110 to 31 on the repairs list.

I am informed that that E R C are not alone with this issue which is all part of the cut backs which all councils in Scotland have had imposed on them as a result of reductions in the block gran fro central government.

I will be pressing for the full repair to be carried out A S A P and not just patch up as is happening at this time.

Please feel free to complain about this issue to E R C  customer first on 0141 577 3002. A complaint from others may help speed up this urgent repair.



  

On Wednesday it is the state opening of Parliament. What will we have to endure time will tell.

I have received the draft flyer for our meeting of which I will post information soon. For various reasons we have been inactive for a while most of our local residents will know the situation. I hope more of you will join us we require younger people out there who will take over the torch in dew coarse.

           We have a wonderful park & play area which is under used. Please will all parents consider assisting in the setting up of things for our youth.
