It's getting cold

Take care there are people freezing do not forget to check up on any vulnerable person you may know. It could be you all too soon.

There are people in need. The people from our local food bank in East Renfrewshire have been collecting Should you have missed them our local Tesco has a collection box please try and put something in.

There again some people will be getting things like this.

Saturday

I see that we are not getting a tree this Christmas in Barrhead. Well the cuts have to fall somewhere but I think a tree & a few coloured lights would not break the bank. Things are grim and families are finding it hard. A little brightness in our Main St would help cheer people up what will anyone passing through think.

Thursday Rant

Barrhead . East Renfrewshire Council Kelburn St, Neilston Rd , Neilston Rd road works start at one end when finished they just start all over again. East Renfrewshire Council  the local authority with statuary powers has a duty to insure disruption is kept to minimum they appear to be failing.

As it is almost Christmas I see the food bank is collecting please drop something in you can.

Cuts

There will be more cuts cumming. The most vulnerable will suffer services to the infirm will go. The warden service will lose nightshirt cover this is the time when there is the most need. We must help each other at this time of need.

This will go as part of the cuts people will just go out side and there is the health issues this bring. Who will clean up or will it be gust left ?. The health of children  is being harmed by the withdrawal of free fruit and the much welcomed breakfast club. The most disadvantaged & vulnerable will suffer.

Good morning

Just finished breakfast & saw the open copy of the East Renfrewshire Council ( E R ) new letter. I wonder how many copies are looked at ?. This is more important as it highlights all the impending cuts. The cuts must be a worry to everyone as it will be the most who suffer.

Sunday

With all the cuts and the impending closure of the refuge disposal unit & halls. There will be cuts to services to housebound and vulnerable. The most disadvantaged will suffer the unfortunate house bound sitting on their chair just hoping someone will look in.

During a visit to a vulnerable person as part of the befriender project an old gentleman spoke of his life in his wee flat one of the high points was a microwave breakfast. This gentleman described it as wonderful. I had  a look at the meal described O K it would pass as a standby but to have something like this put in front of someone who has worked all his life and is now in need of a bit of assistance I find this offensive.

There are several petition's on the go agents the cuts please take time & think about singing up.

Please look after each other & most of all yourself.

The Weekend

The work continues in Kelburne St  Barrhead when will it ever end ?.

We still have the issue of fly tipping issue which will only increase should our recycling / dump close in Barrhead. Should it be you that is dumping remember that you may have solved your rubbish issue but someone has to clean up & that costs money. The cost of clean up has to be paid for and that comes from our Council tax which I have to pay & so do you so you have not really solved you rubbish issue.

      This is our country side it has a lasting effect on the land and wild life.

As posted before this is at the top of Chapel St Barrhead. With all the impending cuts there will East Renfrewshire Council ( E R ) be able to clean up without reducing services elsewhere. Will the most vulnerable suffer even more as a result.

A sad to day

This is a sad fact in to-day's society there are far to many people living in isolation & things will only get worse. Without political comment the way things are going there will be more & more cuts to services to the most vulnerable in our community. In East Renfrewshire we will be seeing murderous cuts to local services from my reading it is once again the most disadvantaged vulnerable that will suffer. Most people in this grouping will be proud people who have spent a lifetime working and paying taxes. They will be to proud to ask for help & they will without any doubt suffer more ill health as a result.

The long running saga

The saga of road works on Kelbuen St Barrhead. When will we see the end of hold ups on this road?,

   I understand the need for road works but is seems to never end the inconvenience for residents is getting serious.

On the lighter side work on the roof & rendering is under way  the log awaited project is welcomed by all,

     This is lovell works unit at top of Gertrude Place .

 My wishes to all as winter starts to take its grip please do not forget vulnerable people .

Our country side

Fly tipping in and around Barrhead. With the possible closure of disposal centres this will only rise.

This one made the East Renfrewshire  ( E R ) news when they run a thing on fly tiping .

 This is obvious fly tipping & commercial at that.

More commercial stuff 

All the above were taken in Chaplet St Barrhead . Transport would have been required to get stuff to this point . This is less than 5 min from E R disposal unit. Dates over the last few years.

On the other hand the disposal units can be over stretched.

Please take care of our countryside & local areas.

To day

To Day there is a consultation event on the master plan down in the health centre on the Main St Barrhead from 1300 until 1730 hrs. Council staff will be present. Come along and give us your views.
