Our next meeting on the 3rd April 2012 we have invited speakers from Barrhead Housing, East Renfrewshire Council & councilors. Please come allong & support your local group.Only with your help can any revival begin.

To all out there if you have any money worries there are several places to turn to for help. do not just hide it and hope it will go away it wont.    East Renfrewshire Council have several services and the staff are only to willing to help. Remember that the citizens advice.are there I understand that you now have to book an appointment.

One thing think hard if you are thinking on a pay day loan. Your blogger had a look at one the other day the cost was disturbing. I had no intention on applying just got interested with seeing all the banner adds on the web.

Well we have all had time to digest the budget. what do you all think. not much I should think. One thing though. I was watching on t v I was pleased to see it was a bit more dignified than in the past.

Did I say poor transport? Taken at Barrhead station about 4 years ago. My train to Kilmarnock was late that morning. The station * is not far just a few minutes walk from our little bit of Scotland. 

* At one time there was four stations in Barrhead two never opened there are several books on our town all avalible from  local shops.

This is a picture of the now cleared garage site it was a mess all thanks to the council for the clean up.A long time ago this was the location of the retained fire station in Barrhead.

To all who were at our meeting things are starting to move on the situation with the derelict factory in Gladstone Av. The matter has been referred to East Renfrewshire  Council building control. The only issue is who ones the factory do you know ? reply to dalmenytra@gmail.com. I hope to have more to report back before our meeting. Remember to ask any one you know along this is you home area you can help in making it better.

Well we tried to have a meeting that was arranged at short notice by Heather.This may have been at to short notice. We did have a chat about a few things and matters requiring action well be reported back to East Renfrewshire Council by Alistair Lynch ( tenant enforcement officer )

Our next meeting will be on Tuesday 3rd April 2012 at 7pm.

Transport to & from our little area bus service could do with improvement in the evening.

 
This is the other side of top photo in car park of the store that claims to help.This is all that is left of a large viaduct railway that ran through town. This line never opened to passengers despite being fitted out with to stations in Barrhead.The station nearest this location was to be called Barrhead South the other in the town center was to be called Barrhead new.Where I am standing was a works dam.Also near my stance there is a river which has been covered over. This is also where there is the local recycling point most is off photo to the right.

Last night I was at the housing liaison group meeting although a good and productive meeting the turn out was poor. Perhaps other tenants groups could revise there views and consider attending in the future.

On a short trip around town I have became aware of the increase in fly tipping this is unsightly & dangerous mot only to us  humans but all our pets & wildlife. Please stop it if it is you.

The council now charge £20 for up lifts why pay this ask around someone may need your cast offs.

Also have a look at reuseit-er.co.uk up lifts are free if the stuff can be reused and prevents land fill.
Most of the goods the council uplift ends up in a hole in the ground.

Hi gang I have had a  look at what is going on elsewhere and I am convinced that we can have the same here in Dalmeny.Come along to our wee hall on Tuesday 13Th 2012 @ 7pm for our meeting.

Our meeting Well last night (6th Mar 2012) we all turned up for our meeting only to find hall had not opened went home wet. Sorry to all who turned up . Will post info when I find out what happend.
