Just having a look at the on line morning papers. More sad news I wish I could publish a paper that would only publish good news.( I need my head looked at )

I see that the East Renfrewshire Food bank opens soon & that our M P Jim Murphy  will be opening it.

Apart from the food bank I would like more  M P's to see the reality of the way things are going in our country. It is sad to still see people who were homeless and be given a flat and still having sleeping on the floor in a sleeping bag.

On Monday I will be at a meeting in the council offices to discuss what we  can start to improve social inclusion.

Saturday Rant

Good morning dear & genital readers just a few lines this damp Saturday.To our local readers are you having issues with the new bin collections. Do not feel to bad a lot of people are just have an other look at your leaflet that you will have received.

Just been studding the briefing papers for the meeting on Wedensday which all being well I will attend dalmenytra@gmail.comwith the gentleman from Gateside we hope for a good meeting.

Still cant decide on new lap top, yes I am using one just now bot it is old an has a tendency to freeze.

                                                                                 

 

Your bloger's laptop is getting over the hill in a big way not quite like above but with my luck there will be a mega sale the day after I buy a new one. The thing is the old desk top still works just fine but I am a bit of couch slob. I like sitting with can of coke at my side as I blog.

 One thing though I was looking to see what is available & I see that there seems to be all sorts of offers for Windows 7 for  commercial use I wonder why ?.

There is not much  to post just now only the Federation thing next week an a follow up on the Still Game to discuss what is the best way forward to improve what is available for all in the area

                                               
                                                   

To day our M P's are being recalled to the hot air shop by the river all to discuss the current situation in the near east. I will try to watch the session live it will be interesting to read the spin in the papers to night & tomorrow.

In this weeks Barrhead News I read about East Renfrewshire Council ( E R ) have been carrying out evictions for anti social behaviour and possible abuse. This is long over dew in the past most councils would not take any action on people who cause harm of any sort. They would see the some blameless person flee their home first.We are pleased to see E R tacking action and hope to see more protection for vulnerable people.

Good day all

Just going over yesterdays meeting with East Renfrewshire council.(E R ) legal department. Interesting to an extent but there are issues that have to be resolved.

As I look out from blogger towers I see a multitude of coloured wheelie bins although I agree with recycling & reusing I wonder if is is going too far.

Sunday Morning

It's Sunday over Dalmeny looks like a good day. I am looking over the briefing documents for funding in how to improve our lot in Gateside & Dalmeny. I would hope to get something by next summer. Can you help please get in touch.

As I update this blog I have  the T V on in the background. The T V is in the history chancel & the program is about spying during  W W 2 as I looked up someone was putting a pin on a map of Scotland right of top Barrhead.

 have just finished preparing for Monday meeting with East Renfrewshire legal services. This should be a good meeting .

   

It is the weekend again

Well it is Saturday again the weeks just seem to fly by it seams it was only yesterday that we were warning about the cold weather and taking care. Is a store yesterday they had baa humbug goods out.

I am still pleases about the speed of repair to the window stuttering @ no 10 Kerr St. I would hate to see anything else happen to prevent the refurbishment starting.

. When complete this will provide the return of 7 homes to the rental stock. This will mean 7 families will have the chance of a good home.


Just finished reading beefing papers the one of interest is the changes in dealing with neighbour disputes & antisocial behaviour. I hope for a crackdown in the ones causing upset & action taken.

Just been watching the news all the unrest in the world all the poor children not being alloyed to be children.

I have been informed that the warden's service have been asked to keep an eye on the leisure facility in Cannock Cr. which has been targeted by vandals. As the group in area are trying to do something to improve their local play park the vandals must be stooped.

Up date

Not the best picture but I am pleased to see that the caravan has been removed from Kerr St this was subject to a fire the other week and was a bi of an eye sore. Also to day I reported that part of the stuttering on no 10 Kerr St was missing. I was happy to see that it had been replaced within 4 hours.
 I am informed that there has been an incident in Cannock Cr of suspected fire raising.

                 Just been watching T V news all the sad news all the deaths. I wish I had the answer.

    I have just asked for an update on the pavement in Blackwood St. I hope to get a reply to day.

                                   
There is good news from our man in Gateside I have been informed that East Renfrewshire Council ( E R)
have started to paint the lamp post's. This was one of the issues highlighted in our estate walk around.

It is with interest to see the changes in our local station at the time of the top picture services had dropped and there was two attempts to close this station & the line. During the 1950s 1965s there was up to 10 trains per hour stopping or passing through this went sown to about 10 a day.Glad to see it is back up to 4 per hour.

Good Morning

We have received an invitation from Dumfries Housing  to attend their A G M & conference in September. We received this invitation via East Renfrewshire Council ( E R )

This should be a good one and provide us with information on how they work. We should be able to glean information that will enable us to assist tenants of Barrhead Housing (B H ).

                    You will recall  we attend meetings with E R & B H and will continue to do so.

Next week we will be having a meeting with E R's legal services in relation to issues with private residents.If you have any questions please contact us as most questions should be submitted in advance as any reply may require research to enable the correct reply is received

I see that the bins are on the increase I have had to post old  photo as I was unable to take one shoeing the new blue & brown ones. ( Kids out playing so no photos ). I see from to-days press that it appears that an other council near by may be about to introduce monthly bin collections. It was reported that this is a cost cutting measure..  

On a better note I am happy to report that there has been a bit of a clean up at the top of Chapel St I hope it stays that way .

                       Above has now been cleared up but it would have been at some cost.

As to the bins issue I have concern about how some people will manage If you know any vulnerable please assist if you can.

Just had a look at some old pictures of our area on the Britain from above web sight our home area is worth a look.

I see that East Renfrewshire Council have been refusing to collect bins if the wrong one has been used.It will be interesting to see the out come. What I trust will not happen is fly tipping.

Yes it is the weekend again. Last night I spent far to long going over various briefing documents. Also sorting out what can be sent for pulping. Then turned in to new paper.

I was down at Voluntary Action ( V A )  to give my view in their new beta web site looks good and will be ease to find your way round.

To day at V A they were having their over 50's computer afternoon and the people there were enjoying the day.        

There are lots of things for everyone to do & V A have plans for lots more.We will post more information soon. We will also let you know when V A's new web sight is up and running. The old sight is still available on.

A bit late

A bit late to day some reason could not enter blog but back now have read the briefing papers but will have to reread to get any view or opinion. Had a welcome break and went to the Memory lave event down in Voluntary Action (V A)  a good day.

        To morrow I will be passing copy of papers along to others to enable them to have a view.Also tomorrow I have had an invitation to V A to try out there beta version of there new web site. This should be interesting..      

Mid week

I  will be meeting up with others to day to discuss some of the contents of the beefing papers.  A lot to go through. I will also be contacting our council to get the full & correct information on when the bins will be collected in Dalmeny it appears that there is a lot of misunderstanding. We shall see.

I have had  a quick look and I will post information when I have had a better read. I am off out to the thing at Voluntary Action for a bit of  me time & will post latter .

As your bloger's main lap top has given up & this one is old but still works well enough. However I am shopping around for a new one I am getting confused to what is on offer it is a bit like phones I still recall the old button A & button B call boxes.

I have been in contact with East Renfrewshire Council ( E R ) and some of our wonderful counsellors to get movement on this issue I have also raised the issue about the state of the derelict factory in Gladstone Av

                                                                   

  What we hope for is that the council E R contact the oner and have it demolished. What we do not want is for the council E R issuing an emergence demolition order and have to pick up the tab

Friday starts the week end

It's the week end .

What will you do.Why not get out there and have a fun. There is so much to do if you just have a look around.

On Monday we will be attending the Housing Services Lesion Group ( H S L G ) meting with East Renfrewshire Council ( E R ). As usual we are waiting for the agenda & papers I have serious misgivings about the use of private mail services providers. I do not see much change in this situation considering the present view of our central government.

Latter on I will scan in information about coming events that will be held down in Voluntary  Action ( V A ).

  

               The offices of V A are situated just off Kelburn St and there ample parking. 

                              We list some of the things to do you will be most welcome. 

   

1: There is the over 50s walking group this is just a short walk around. After the walk there is tea or coffee & briskets in  V A .This starts at 11 am from V A and is on a Wedensday.

2: On Friday's there is the over 50s computer club this is from 1 pm   until 3.30 pm.The cost of this is £ 3.50. this includes refreshments.

3: Every second  Wednesday there will be a craft group and is from 10 am till 12 pm for a donation refreshments will be provided.

Hi Gang it's Thursday

I was unable to post yesterday but we are back to day. yesterday federation meeting wet well enough.We hope things will move forward and we can work together to benefit all our community.

As time goes by things will only get harder as all the cuts start to bight what we hope is to try to insure that the most vulnerable have some sort of protection.It appears that it is the less well off that are suffering as time goes on.

I understand that there will be a youth drama project starting up soon in our wee hall. We will report more on this as soon as more information is to hand.

      To day there is a walk in event down in the Ark in Auchenback all about safety & health.

It is the walk about in Gateside this afternoon we hope to move forward to improvement the Gateside. This is the first walkabout that has taken place.We have a few ideas to put to council officials.t Renfrewshire

Jobs for Monday

Just looking at this weeks on Tuesday we will having the first estate walk around in Gateside we have a few idea to put to East Renfrewshire ( E R ) staff in attendance. I hope for a good walkabout they are of value as something good comes out of them.

On Wednesday we will be attending the E R Tenants & Residents Federation meeting down in E R council offices we hope that we can move forward and work to improve our lot in  E R .

Although not connected to the tenants & residents movement I will be at a meeting in voluntary action to try and arrange things for all.

Sunday Rant

                                                                     Good morning all.

On Tuesday at 1330 hrs we will meet outside 2/4 Gateside Cr for the Gateside walk around. There are several issues to be addressed one of the main issues is dog fouling. There will be a request for some more dog bind. I will add last year I was making arrangements to bring the mobile football pitch to the park in Dalmeny & also to Gateside. After securing the promise of private funding we were unable to continue as people did not want their children running around both parks dew in the main to dog mess.

As you may know the support staff from East Renfrewshire sports unit are all fully trained & have all been cleared with protection of vulnerable groups check ( P V G )  ( this was the old disclosure Scotland ) We can still arrange this & other thing for all people in or area but we require help. We can arrange the required
P V G's with out charge as we operate in the third sector.

Rain over Dalmeny

I am just back from our recycling unit down in the care par of the store claims to help. Bit of a Q I trust that  some of the tails about what happens at this unit is untrue.

Next week will see a our estate walk around up in Gateside I believe that this will be the first time there has been on. I hope for good weather although a nice area not s good in heavy rain. There is value in the walkabouts it lets residents see that there is interest in what is happening. It also lets the Council see & address issues.

One other small point is also insures that it will keep the Scottish Housing Regulator happy.

While I dry out I am watching T V a bit of concern there has been four different adds f a certain pay day loan coy . You know who I refer to these ads have to be paid for by some one & that is the people who are using them. Please think long and hard before you take out loan with them.
