This is the end of one of the old bin sheds at the rear of the flats in Gertrude Pl Barrhead. They have been removed as part of the mixed tenure regeneration project.

This will be a great improvement. We will post a picture when work is complete.

To day I was down at the new & exciting man's shed project.  Which is being run down in work units in Robertson St Barrhead. This will be up and running soon.    The old health centre is now a part of  Barrhead's history. We will soon have a new updated sports centre and civic realm together wit a brand new supermarket.

I have been having a look around our wee bit of East Renfrewshire (E R ) We seem to have got through the winter so far with out to many issues.

Last nights meeting with  E R went well & some good points were covered. There is still much to be achieved and we can do it together.

To night I will be at the Housing Lesion Group meeting down at East Renfrewshire ( E R ) in Barrhead should be a good meeting .As it usually is

Was approached last night on the way back from Tesco asked what I was going to do about the fly tipping. To my shame I told them to report it them self's to the wardens service. I was not felling to well at the time so perhaps I can be forgiven. As regular readers will know I rant on about this subject. I had a look the the stuff that was dumped & to my horror this stuff could have been donated to the wonderful Re use-it project in Barrhead.

Life is to short I have been hearing about too many people who are no longer with us. A few mouth's ago your bloger was down doing my Saturday thing down at Re Useit among the thing on hand was a school photo nicely framed of a load of kids from the old extension of Cross Arthurle School in Graham St.

An other former school day chum arrived in the store we spent a few moments reminiscing and noting the sad fact that far to many have passed on. I have just been informed of more deaths. As I have the same photo's I looked it out sad times.

This bring me back is there anyone out there who would like to join our group?.

Picture is getting old but there is still the same issue with speeding on this stretch of road. In times gone past this was a  favourite spot for a police speed check. Two officers at the check unit & two officers down the road a bit waiting to stop drivers. I post this as last week I was walking down from Neilston Railway Station to bloggr tower's on road to the right.I saw traffic passing the speed advisor unit on the road down from Neilston. The unit was advising speeds of around 55 mph.

Hi All

Attention all tenants of East Renfrewshire Council ( E R ) & all other social landlords please check that you are getting the correct amount of ant benefit that you are entitled to. Please contact  E R money advice they will assist in insuring that you can get everything that you are dew. You are not a scrounger by calming it is your right.

There is far more lost by tax evasion ( which is just as mush a crime as benefit fraud ) than benefit fraud and errors. Simple human error losses are higher than fraud.

Sitting in Costa coffee shop in Silverburn only to be accosted by two young kids out with parents. One started shouting that man has a blog on his lap top. At this time the two are leaning over looking at what I am doing. The adult male has asked for a copy of  little bird photo. Perhaps I should charge?.

                                                Just getting ready to go out to a meeting.

I hope all  are keeping well and are taking care of yourself. I see that there is an other food bank in East Renfrewshire ( E R ). I was speaking to a lady the other day while  I was putting my meagre donation in the collection point in Tesco Barrhead E R. This lady close to tears was putting a few tins in the box with the comment that she never thought she would live long enough to see people having to ask a food bank for a bag of food

Now that I am felling a bit better I post a few comments about my trip to the one day conference at Hampden Park This event was hosted by N H S Scotland and covered a range of issues from mental health to understanding dementia. We all broke up in to various workshops & I attended one on dementia fronted by people from Kilmarnock who were using music as part of their way of dealing with this terrible inflection.
The program from Musical Minds uses song to bring relief to people suffering with dementia,from the video this appeared to be of help.

After that we had a networking lunch followed by a key note speech  on other health issues.

My afternoon workshop was on health issues in relation to our travelling community this higlited just how hard it is for travellers to get assistance.

I believed I had some understanding of travellers issues  but I now must admit I have little to no knowledge or understanding of their issues.
The only thing it reinforced my view just how wrong some of the right wing media are on the issues regarding the travelling community.

By now East Renfrewshire Council ( E R ) have sent out the new edition of the E R magazine as usual it is worthwhile reading.

One important issue is on welfare reform there is al list of contact nos to call for assistance.
