I have been asking about an update on what is going to happen about the state of the stairs from Dalmeny Dr Gertrude Pl Barrhead. During our estate walk about the condition of the steps was higlited and a report submitted .I am concerned about the potentially dangerous state of the steps. We have a number of venerable people using this pathway / stairs and there is the possibility an accident . I have asked who is responsible and it appears that if the pathway has been adopted by East Renfrewshire Council ( E R ) Then road's should repair if the pathway has not been adopted the the responsibility is on the housing department.
We all understand the constraints on E R's budgets,however as the possibility of an accident remains high something should be done about the condition of the stairway.
There is a ramp which remains is fair condition and I would recommend that this is used instead of the steps.
